Jonathan Josephson’s play MAX HANDS will be included in the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwright’s one-act festival Kiss My Axe (Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 2-24). Her horror-farce RUNED – riffing on M.R James “Casting the Runes” – will be included in the Heartland New Play Festival (June 7-30).  The Sherlockian mash-up HOLMES, SHERLOCK, AND THE CONSULTING DETECTIVE will be performed at the Waldorf School in Seattle (June 7-8).

Christopher Aguilar’s STAND – A PLAY TO HELP BREAK THE STIGMA OF MENTAL ILLNESS  will be performed in honor of Mental Health Month, on Saturday May 12, 2pm @ Filipino American Service Group Inc (FASGI) 135 N. Park View St and on Saturday May 19, 2pm @ Pilipino Workers Center 153 Glendale Blvd.  Admission is free and there will be a post-show discussion about mental illness.

Allie Costa‘s play BOXES ARE MAGIC, which was a PlayGround selection, will have a reading at the Drama League in New York City on May 19th. Allie’s critically-acclaimed duologue TWO GIRLS was selected for The #metoo Plays and will have a reading at the Duke Ellington Performing Space in NYC on May 21st. http//www.alliecosta.com

Andrew Joseph Perez will be in the remount of AN OF LA MANCHA at A Noise within in Pasadena in August/September.  He also has a film debuting at My True Colors Art Fest in New York in June, and will be performing in NATIVE GARDENS at Renaissance Theatreworks in Milwaukee in October/November.Mildred Lewis’s short comedy CAST ME! will be in the Breath of Fire Latina Theatre Ensemble One Act Festival.

Jonathan Wickremasinghe-Kuhn told stories at three Moth StorySLAMs in March and April and placed 2nd under the theme “Caught”. His short play NOT ALL MEN, which originated at Playground LA, was named a semi-finalist for the Durango Arts 10-Minute Play Festival.

Scott Mullen‘s short play 172 PUSH-UPS, written for Playground-LA, will be performed over the next few months in festivals in Santa Paula CA, Ontario Canada, Madison WI and Houston TX.
