Jully Lee is directing a virtual reading of QUESTION 27, QUESTION 28 by Chay Yew, presented by Artists At Play and the Japanese American National Museum on January 7 at 2pm. She’s also in the feature film “ILLEGAL” which is currently playing in select theaters but will be out on VOD starting January 12, and recently booked a Guest Star on Season 2 of the sketch comedy series “I THINK YOU SHOULD LEAVE” on Netflix. Desiree’ York‘s monologue Still Here, performed by Jully Lee, has been selected by Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble for their Covid Monologues which will be aired in 2021 and published with proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders.

Scott Mullen‘s Playground-LA play PEOPLE WILL TALK has been selected to appear in Barrington Stage Company’s Tenth Annual 10×10 Festival next month.

Evan Baughfman‘s TYA adventure play, SPROUT WANTS OUT, is now published through YouthPLAYS. It details a pet guinea pig’s eye-opening exploration of the great outdoors. Read it here!

Charles Velasquez-Witosky just heard the announcement that his first published comic book, Carnival Row: From the Dark, will be getting a print run later this year. The comic was originally published in late 2019 by Legendary Comics on Comixology. It can be read at this link. Look out for the print run soon!

Mildred Lewis has been invited to write a short virtual play for the Minnesota Arts Board. Suitcases will be produced by Ensemble Studio Theatre-Los Angeles. Peace of Home is a finalist in the L.B. Williams Playwriting Contest sponsored by New Circle Theatre Company.

Allie Costa can be seen and heard in many recently released projects, including the films “New Computer” and “Dance How You Feel Right Now: Our House,” the musical Pickpocket, and the music video, “Christmas Cards.” “Future Shock,” “Human Resources,” and “Choreography Confined” continue making the rounds on the film festival circuit. Her plays She Has Seen the Wolf (Best of PlayGround-LA) and How I Knew Her had streaming staged readings via Spark Creative Works, while Heartfelt, which was inspired by a PlayGround-LA prompt, had a reading elsewhere. Amanda L. Andrei is coordinating a virtual residency/workshop for 6-7 artists this summer to work on plays inspired by the theme of Radiance through Bucharest Inside the Beltway. Christina Wren plays Nicole in Zack Snyder’s upcoming anime series for Netflix, “Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.” She’s currently producing a feature with her husband about a futuristic woman from a space colony who gets thrust back to whatever is left of earth and must figure out how to survive.
