Company in the News April 2021

See what PlayGround-LA Writers, Alumni, and Company Members are up to as we get ready for the April 12th Best of PlayGround-LA Gala

Jerome Joseph Gentes‘ TigerBear Productions, the creative production company of PlayGround writer and board member, is collaborating on a special experience for Modernism Week 2021 in Palm Springs, CA. Attendees will tour the 1971 mid-century modern Butler-Jaffe house and simultaneously experience onsite, live storytelling as well as Bird Songs performed by Bird Singers and Dancers from the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Inside and around the grounds, the Nickerson-Rossi Dance company will connect the traditional Bird Songs to their own live, modern choreography. Inspired by Kent Mackenzie’s 1961 film, the event draws and expands on the connections between migration, movement, and modernism, while honoring the Native Americans whose land the house inhabits. Shows take place on April 10-11; April 10th is sold out. To get your tickets for April 11th, here is the link!
