Now Accepting Applications for the 2021-22 Directing Apprenticeship Program

PlayGround-LA, Los Angeles’ leading playwright incubator, is now looking for the next generation of great directors. PlayGround-LA will select 3-4 diverse aspiring and/or early-career directors to apprentice with PlayGround-LA during the upcoming Monday Night PlayGround season, kicking off on October 11th  and continuing through March 2022.  Directing Apprentices will assistant direct for a minimum of three rounds of Monday Night PlayGround  (generally second Mondays, Oct-Mar, 4pm-9:30pm) and will subsequently be offered their Monday Night PlayGround directing debut.

Other opportunities available to PlayGround-LA Directing Apprentices include: participation in the monthly Monday Night PlayGround script selections; virtual attendance at the monthly in-house Recess play readings; opportunity to assistant direct for PlayGround main stage productions; and invitation to PlayGround Resident Playwright and Alumni in-house play readings.
