Evan Baughfman‘s play, FERRIS BUELLER 2: THE 4TH WALL, will be featured in “Like, Totally Rushing,” the newest show from Force of Nature Productions, in a few weeks, at the Brick House Theatre in North Hollywood! Six short plays, each a mash-up of popular 80’s films! (Evan’s play contains elements from “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” “Flashdance,” and “The Shining.”) If interested, please, purchase tickets here.

Michael Kaplan‘s new play, A STAR-SHAPED PEG, will be having a reading at EST/LA on March 16th at 8:00.

Scott Mullen‘s first full-length play, CARL FLUNT WOULD PROTECT YOU FROM TRUCKS, is having its premiere this month in a 3-week run at the Madlab Theatre in Columbus, Ohio.

Arthur Keng will next be seen playing Teddy Washington-Chen, one of the core faculty members on the new AMC series “Lucky Hank” starring Bob Odenkirk, premiering March 19th.

Jennie Webb’s CARRY ON will be included in Smith & Kraus Best 10-Minute Plays 2023, and a piece from her full length DEAD PEOPLE’S DISHES in Smith & Kraus Best Women’s Stage Monologues 2023. She’s excited to involve femme+ playwrights and directors in LA Female Playwrights Initiative’s (Virtual) Micro-Read Hook-Up: “A Light Ahead” on March 19th (submission deadline March 10th). And she’s co-creator of EST/LA’s the Ignite Project, which is currently accepting submissions from LA-based playwrights (mention PlayGround!) for Cohort#3 through March 6th.

Christina Wren is enjoying playing Caroline in the ABC series, Will Trent.

Mildred Inez Lewis has been commissioned by the Lucille Lortel Foundation to complete FANTASMA CROSSINGS, a full-length ghost story. She will join The Road Theatre’s Under Construction program this spring to begin work on THE FOUR.

Allie Costa recently booked a workshop of a new musical and a cool scripted audio gig and is looking forward to both! Her play PIECE OF CAKE is currently running at Barrington Stage Company. Her play After the Fact was recently produced at the Pleasance Theatre in London, while Two Girls and Cut and Run are currently in rehearsal in Alabama.
