See what PlayGround-LA Writers, Alumni, and Company Members are up to this October!

Tamadhur Al-Aqeel,  Emily Brauer Rogers, and Jennie Webb are all having staged readings of as part of Company of Angels’ New Works Festival: October 18-27. Jennie’s play Wound Care: a crack baby reparations play (written during a PlayGround 2023-2024 Residency), directed by Jen Bloom, takes the stage on Friday, October 18 at 8:00 PM.  Emily’s play Gertrude and Lady M, directed by Katie Chidester, can be seen on Saturday, October 19 at 8:00 PM. Tamadhur’s play Traffic Report, directed by Elana Luo, goes up Saturday, October 26 at 8:00 PM. Tickets and more info here.

Allie Costa appeared in four films currently in post-production. Her play The Intervention Will Be Televised was recently part of Atlantic Theater Company’s NYU Fall One Acts Festival. MJ Kang recently finished filming the second season of CBC and BBC’s Gangnam Project as well as the independent feature, Lunch Hour. She was also awarded a Signpost Fellowship and the AGE Legacy Arts Award.

Jonathan Josephson‘s 10-minute marshmallow comedy Chubby Bunny will have its 28th production in Queensland, Australia. He recently led a 10-minute playwriting workshop with PlayCafe called WRITING POWERHOUSE 10-MINUTE PLAYS and is hoping to more of such things in the future. More at jonathanjosephson.com.

Isabel Siragusa is starring in the world premiere of TEDDY by Shiela Forsey at the Eugene O’Neill Festival in New Ross, Ireland. She also just finished her short film, MotherEarth Inc., which she wrote, co-directed and acted in. Stay tuned for information on screenings and festivals.
