Carla Vega wrote and will perform a new original work in Matriarch, a transformative theatre experience that explores the roles women play in our patriarchal society, and the urgent need to transform that dynamic. This production of 2 live shows on August 20, 21 in Los Angeles and an online streaming event in October is presented by The Roots and Wings Project & the Houston Coalition Against Hate.

Allie Costa
‘s Allie Costa’s latest film “Clean Slate” is now streaming here! Allie performed her original piece The Truth is Out There at the Hollywood Fringe Cabaret and sang “Love Will Come” and “Find Me Again” from the musical Bandstand at the Theatre Unmasked livestreamed event. Her script Obscura, which began at PlayGround-LA, was recently performed at the Summer School for the Performing Arts, as was her script Drop in the Ocean. Evan Baughfman On August 14th-15th, Evan Baughfman will attend Awaken the Spirits! horror convention at the Pasadena Convention Center. He will be selling and signing copies of his short story collection, THE EMACIATED MAN AND OTHER TERRIFYING TALES FROM POE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

Jully Lee just joined the Main Cast at IMPRO THEATRE and will be in 2 upcoming improv shows with COLD TOFU IMPROV on August 19 (at Impro) and August 29 (at Outside In Theatre). She also recently guest starred on Season 2 of “I Want You to Leave,” which premiered on Netflix on July 6. For more info click here.

Daysha Veronica was interviewed by Immersive theatre podcast, “No Proscenium,” about her experience writing her show, Brassroots District, which can be heard here. Her play, Mother Earth Day, (a Best of PlayGround-LA pick for season 8 and the winner of the PlayGround-LA 2020 New Play Commission), was selected as a top 30 finalist for The Off-Off-Broadway Short Play Festival, hosted by Samuel French and Concord Theatricals. Julianne Jigour is currently developing a new full-length play with MADLab and will have a public reading of the play this fall. This summer she virtually collaborated with Mumbai’s Bombay Theatre Company and PlayGround-LA actors Anthony Rutowicz and Julio Hanson for an Instagram Live production of her short play Ride Home.

Jerome Joseph Gentes recently completed a website design for his production company, TigerBear Productions. The site now includes a fresh location where visitors can listen to playwright Harrison David Rivers’s “Hold Me The Forgotten Way” audiocycle, a series of short monologues on love, sex, and longing.
