Evan Baughfman’s spooky Christmas tale, THE YETI’S CLAW, will be a part of Frigid New York’s Holiday Spirits, staged readings of creepy holiday plays. (THE YETI’S CLAW was originally written and performed for PlayGround Season 11). Holiday Spirits takes place December 7th & 8th.

Suzan Averitt’s feature screenplay Cat Lady, A Psycho-Biddy Horror, has won several honors at different screenplay festivals, including the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, Frights! Camera! Action!, Los Angeles Motion Picture Festival, Best Script Award–London, Hollywood International Indie Screenplay Awards, The Thing in the Basement Horror Festival and Austin Under the Stars. Now a nominee in the Hollywood Boulevard Film Festival, she will walk the red carpet next week with her partner and co-writer Jeff G Peters.

Allie Costa was recently interviewed twice about acting, writing, and pursuing a creative life: check the interviews out here and here! Some films she booked this year are slated for release in 2025, so she’s looking forward to that. Meanwhile, audio versions of her plays Two Girls and Rise Up are now streaming on Open-Door Playhouse, with the latter directed by Rachel Berney Needleman, who also directed the first staged reading of Rise Up at PlayGround!  Three of Allie’s super short plays (Do I Know You?, Pit Stop, and Power Pose) are running December 27th through December 29th at the Gimme A Minute Play Festival in Long Island. Low Tide and Domesticated were recently performed in London, Clean Slate was shared in New York, and What’s Past is Prologue had a staged reading in Massachusetts. Early next year, Jonathan Josephson will make his Eastern European playwriting debut with his Wicked Lit adaptation Las Lloronas at FH Dortmund in Dortmund, Germany. Also, Chubby Bunny, the marshmallow comedy that just won’t quit, will receive it’s 29th production this coming January at Northpolk Highschool in Alleman, Iowa.
