Blaire Battle will open her solo show, Advanced Sexual Education, at the Pacific Resident Theater on July 11 as part of the Daredevil Arts Festival. The show is a comedic exploration of gender transition using stand up comedy, clown, as well as material from a sex ed curriculum she helped design at 15. The show previously premiered at Playground’s own SoloFest in San Francisco. TICKETS.

Evan Baughfman play GOATS OF OLYMPUS was presented by the Edmonds Players, June 25th-28th near Seattle, as part of their 15th Annual Festival of Shorts. What is GOATS about? “Cassie visits her father, a widower and science fiction author, on Christmas Eve.” More info

Allie Costa appears in the animated film Blooky: The Book Who Wanted to Be Read, which won its category at the Cannes Film Festival! The film then had its California premiere at Palm Springs International ShortFest. Allie recently played a tenacious reporter in a dramatic sci-fi movie and a sassy animated character in a coming-of-age film, both of which are now in post-production. Listen to her episode of Tell Me What Happened, hosted by fellow PlayGrounder Jay Rehak. Allie’s play How I Knew Her is currently touring various venues in England. Metatheatrical will premiere at Gi60 Houston July 1st and 2nd. This Provincial Life recently had a reading in Brooklyn, while Wayward and Piece of Cake both had readings in San Francisco. Matthew Henerson will be returning in the fall for the third season opener of NCIS: ORIGINS as NIS Agent Carl Laughlin. He is also scheduled to begin rehearsals for THE VISIT by Friedrich Durrenmatt at the Pasadena Playhouse in early August. 

Mark Jacobson stars as Jonathan in DAVID, the animated feature that was the #1 movie on Netflix when it dropped and #4 globally for its first week!

Jully Lee will be in the staged reading of PROVENANCE by Jennifer Maisel, directed by Marya Mazor at Chance Theatre on July 29. Grab your ticket!

Teddy Alexis Rodriguez, PhD will be directing a workshop production of David Davila’s 1970s College Sex Comedy at Fullerton College.
